Games games games.....

Andin has been wanting to play games a lot these days, so I thought it would be fun to make some of our own. This is just a couple of fun games made with items we had around the house! It is always so rewarding making things together like this. The kids loved helping me, and even more so loved playing them when they were finished! Plus we were able to get creative, stay busy, and recycle!

The first is a felted matching game! Made with felt squares, buttons, and embroidery floss. I just sewed different colored buttons on each pair of squares, so the kids can match the two colored buttons. After I finished, I started thinking it would also be cute to make some have two or three buttons to match numbers as well as colors and sizes. You could really do any item, pattern, or shape for this.

The second game is what Andin is calling "Drop off!" We took an old cardboard egg carton and put a little paper square with a number in each hole. The kids took turns standing straight up and dropping a game piece (we used Boston baked beans and cheerios!) into the carton, trying to get the most points! I stuck with smaller numbers so they could add their scores by themselves. Andin was cute to keep score on his easel. The pieces that didn't make the board went on the 'zero' side, or the lid and didn't gain a point. They had pretty good aim, and loved playing!

That is such a cute idea! Your kids look adorable in their bathing suits!
We for sure need to get the kids together soon, we are all dying to get out of the house, going a little stir crazy. Maybe go to the splash park or the kids museum, or even just hang out at home and play in the sprinklers or something. We are down for anything!

What a great idea! I'm 25 and I even want to try the "drop off" game. That's when you know it's a keeper. Miss you!
