I didn't know until five minutes ago! Every time we've driven back from the cabin this summer, I always love watching out the window. It is so interesting to me how the trees start to slowly disappear, and all a sudden you see a cactus! (And then tons more of them!) It is such a dramatic change of scenery in such a short drive....one of the things I do love about Arizona. But every time on our way home I've noticed these tall amazingly beautiful flowers sprinkled through out the cacti and dry grass. They're these shining rays of color, they are so fascinating to me! I always tell Devin I want to stop off and take pictures of them sometime. So I did it this last trip and let me tell you, these flowers are just way too cool. Some of them were much taller than me, and as I just learned on Wikipedia....certain varieties reach maturity and bloom at 20-40 years! Amazing. I walked up this beautiful hill to get my shot, it was so quiet and peaceful up there. But walking down there were grasshoppers jumping at my face...ewwwww. It was worth it though!

Devin waiting for me with the kids....what a good hubby.
